本剧改编自同名小说。拥有天才数学才能的三矢瞭司（杉野遥亮 饰），作为协明大学数学系的特别推荐生入学。在那里遇到了同样擅长数学的熊泽勇一（龙星凉 饰）和斋藤佐那（关水渚 饰）。三人怀着数学这一共同的热情，一边挑战难解的证明，一边建立起友情。大家都从小因为是天才而感到孤独，无法与任何人心灵相通，这也是大家第一次能够与他人分享数学的喜悦。 但是，大家都能够凭借其压倒性的才能逐渐影响到周围的人，并且产生了复杂的情感波动。熊泽决定挑战其他数学理论，以克服对瞭司的嫉妒，佐那则探索数学以外的道路。大家都无法接受各自为政的三人关系，都以数学为基础，挑战了未解决的难题“科拉茨猜想”。然而，在这个挑战前方等待着他们的，却是谁都未曾预料到的冲击性结局——
